I have denied many people from the US from getting student discounts in Canada (US citizen, and US university), and informed them that they would be required to do this in their home country, as we are required to take down the Student ID number during the transaction. First we want to see your student ID (or acceptance letter), and then we check the LOCAL Apple website to see if that college/university is an accredited school (The Canadian version of the site is ), and if your school cannot be found in this list, we decline the student discount. You might not be eligible, because at least at my store, we're very strict on student discounts. I made a throwaway account because we're not supposed to talk about our job online and stuff.Īnyways, this is based on what we do at our store.
